About Ms. Amarragy
I am an educator, learner, thinker, reader, and writer.
My interests in education are boundless and include:
I studied political science and completed 68 quarter-units of biology, chemistry, and physics at UC Irvine. During this time, I presented at the Undergraduate Critical Theory conference and was a finalist for a Fulbright scholarship.
After my time at UC Irvine, I spent 3 years working in various youth settings including as an instructor at a private school and as a coordinator at the Japanese American Citizens League for a program for high school students focused on identity, personal history, and community.
In 2016, I completed a single subject credential in Biological Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona and taught as a substitute teacher and a student teacher at Charter Oak Unified School District. I later added a Chemistry credential and began my first year teaching at Gunderson High School in San Jose. The 2017-2018 school year marks my second year teaching.
